The following public records, obtained through New York’s Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), include Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reports involving Luke Wenke as well as records from his 2023 detention at the Cattaraugus County Jail in Little Valley, New York.
One sheriff’s report concerns letters Wenke mailed to a Salamanca High School principal while detained at the Orleans County Jail in early 2024. According to the report, the letters discussed Wenke’s incarceration and other subjects but contained no threats. A deputy contacted a U.S. Marshal involved in Wenke’s federal case, who reported that judges, attorneys, and others had received letters containing similar language. No charges were filed, and the matter was closed.
A May 2023 report documents Wenke’s arrest after sheriff’s deputies discovered an outstanding federal warrant while serving him with a no-contact order of protection involving a victim in North Carolina. Wenke was taken into custody, and the matter was turned over to the U.S. Marshals.
The second collection contains records from Wenke’s detention at the Cattaraugus County Jail from October 4 through December 8, 2023, following his arrest on alleged federal supervised-release violations. These documents include his booking information and a correspondence log showing mail he sent and received while incarcerated.
Together, the records provide additional documentation of Wenke’s interactions with Cattaraugus County law enforcement and his detention history during 2023 and 2024.

The records below pertain to Luke Wenke’s stay at the Cattaraugus County Jail, where he was detained from October 4th, 2023 to December 8th, 2023 following his arrest on several probation violation charges. Included among the documents are Wenke’s booking sheet and correspondence log, which shows the mail he sent and received while at the facility.
It’s evident, based on these records, that Wenke mailed at least three letters to a member of his romantic obsession’s (Ryan’s) family in violation of a state-issued no-contact order of protection. Wenke was required to abide by the protective order as a condition of his supervised release, and some of his violation charges stemmed from the unwanted correspondence he mailed to the family.
