The following public records, obtained through New York State’s Freedom of Information Law (FOIL), document Luke Wenke’s detention at the Chautauqua County Jail from June 20 through August 10, 2023.
Wenke was detained during this period for alleged violations of the conditions of his federal supervised release. The records include his Chautauqua County Jail booking sheet and a correspondence log documenting mail he sent and received while incarcerated.
The mail log is particularly relevant to Wenke’s federal supervision proceedings. Wenke had been taken into custody following allegations involving unwanted correspondence with victims, and the jail records indicate that he continued sending letters while detained.
According to the records, some of Wenke’s outgoing correspondence was directed to a victim who had recently obtained a no-contact order of protection against him. The mail log therefore provides additional documentation concerning correspondence sent during the same period in which Wenke was facing alleged supervised-release violations involving unwanted contact.
Copies of Wenke’s Chautauqua County Jail booking sheet and correspondence records are provided below.
