Over the weekend, I received a letter from an inmate at the Monroe County Jail in Rochester, New York, where Luke Wenke is being detained pending the outcome of his ongoing federal cyberstalking case. Dated June 15th, 2026, the letter claims that Luke Wenke was violently attacked in his jail cell by a man named Derrick Van Epps, who was recently found guilty of attempted murder and assault as hate crimes for the unprovoked stabbing of a hiker in Perinton, New York.
In June of 2025, 31-year-old Van Epps attacked a man named Dylan Ghaemi from behind after they crossed paths on a hiking trail, causing lasting injuries to the victim’s hands and other parts of his body. Further investigation revealed that Van Epps had targeted Ghaemi due to his race.

The letter’s author states that most of the inmates have seen this website, which he describes as hilarious. He goes on to say that the inmates have started mocking Wenke based on the site’s content, including my frequent highlighting of Wenke’s bizarrely close relationship with his mother.
According to the author, Wenke’s fellow inmates didn’t see the attack as it happened. They could supposedly only hear Wenke yelling in apparent disbelief while Van Epps allegedly bashed his head against the sink in Wenke’s cell. The writer also describes the aftermath of the assault, noting that “there was blood and teeth left in the cell.”

“I got Wenke to give me your name under the pretext of helping him out. Most of us in here have seen the website, which is hilarious by the way, and we want to add to it. Around the end of April/early May, Luke was attacked by a bug-out named Derrick Van Epps, who was recently found guilty of a vicious assault/hate crime in Perinton, NY. All we could hear/see because it was in Luke’s cell was Luke getting his face bashed against a sink while screaming “What did I do!?” and “Why me!?”. It was pretty gruesome, there was blood and teeth left in the cell, but also hilarious b/c of how he yelled it and the fact Derrick casually walked away and later told him Jesus told him to do it. We’ve been reciting posts like “Weinke loves his Mommy” and telling him that this is Weinkeville now. LOL!
